This is Coach Mary's fifth season with MCAC.  All the swimmers enjoyed the
experienced they gained with Mary's one-on-one attention in the swim-up program,
as well as her efforts with the regular club workouts.  Mary has been the head coach
of the 10 and under group for the Copperfield Dolphins for the past 4 years.  Mary
has experience coaching soccer and grew up playing soccer, practicing judo and
swimming.  She is active in her church teaching Sunday school to high school kids as
well as other ministries.  Mary's hobbies include reading, spending time with her
family, training for triathalons and swimming.  Mary's love and passion for swimming
and the swimmers is infectious. Parents often comment on how fun it is to simply
watch her coach and guide the swimmers through their workouts with clear
expectations and passionate delivery.

Andy Watson
Coach Andy is back.   We are excited and pleased to have him back
coaching with us, as will be all our swimmers after working with him.  
Andy is a passionate coach with a tough exterior, but he's really a
softy with an intense, yet encouraging drive off of which the swimmers
thrive. Andy has experience as the head coach for the Stone Creek
Stingrays for 5 successful seasons.  Andy has two boys, Joel (16) and
Jeff (20) and has been involved in both boys baseball and swim
coaching all their lives.  Andy has been involved with Mayde Creek
Aquatic Club for 6 years as a coach and 2 years before that as a
parent of MCAC swimmers.

Larry Hermes
This is Larry’s 5th year as a coach at MCAC.  Larry has been the
Head Coach of the Williamsburg Settlement Swim Team for the past 4
swim seasons and  has been coaching for MCAC for the past 4 years.
Swimmers love working with Larry and his gentle and nurturing style of
coaching.  Larry is a Special Education teacher at Morton Ranch Junior
High working with all grade levels and students of different abilities.  
Larry also serves as President of the Board for The Country Playhouse
Theatre where he has been acting and teaching for more than 20 years.  
Larry enjoys theatre swimming and running in his spare time.  Larry has
4 children, all of which swim with MCAC.

Russel Mahon

Coach Nina has been swimming since the age of 7 where whe swam for
the Northampton Summer League.  She started year-round competitive
swimming at the age of 11 for ATEX and SST.  Nina swam on her High
School Varsity swim team at Klein Oak High School over the course of
her 4 years. She has served as head coach for  the Barkers Ridge
Marlins for 2 years and is currently the assistant swim coach at Cypress
Creek High School. Nina earned an engineering degree from Texas
A&M, and teaches Algebra 1 in addition to her coaching duties. She has
2 boys, Reid (8)  and Charlie (1 year).  Nina keeps herself busy with
Reid playing in all sports including soccer, baseball, football and of
course...swimming.
We are very happy to have Nina with us on our coaching staff and
greatly value her input and fresh ideas.

Coach Russel Mahon comes to us as a lifelong swimmer.  He began
swimming in Mount Shasta, California with US swimming at the age of
seven.  Although he swam all strokes, breaststroke and freestyle were
his specialties.  After moving to Texas, he swam on the varsity swim
team of Spring High school.  He has worked with small children
coaching the fundamentals of baseball, soccer, football and swimming.  
He participated in band as a percussionist since the 5th grade and
served as band president in high school. Russ teaches music at Wilson
Elementary in Cy-Fair ISD. Coach Russ' hobbies include baseball,
frisbee golf, writing and playing music and spending time with his wife
and 2 children.
Jim Thompson grew up swimming competitively in California and
Texas.  He began coaching with MCAC in the spring of 2000.  Jim
coached the Bear Creek Barracudas for 3 years and is currently in
his sixth season as Head Coach for the Windsong Wavebreakers.  
Before coaching swimming he volunteered his time coaching little
league football with Cy-Fair Sports Association.   He has been a
teacher for the past 15 years, teaching pre-K, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th
and 8th grade in both Cy-Fair ISD and Katy ISD.  He currently
teaches 6th grade math at Spillane Junior High in Cy Fair ISD.  Jim
enjoys spending time with his family and church, reading, and playing
and writing music.  Jim also writes and performs his own educational
music developed during his years as an Elementary and Junior High

Lynne Adams has been coaching for the past 25 years, and swam
competitively throughout all her years in school.  She began coaching back in
Michigan as a waterfront lifeguard at the age of 15.  She served as the head
coach of the Stone Creek Stingrays for 10 years and has been the Head
Coach for the Estates of Highland Creek for the past 4 years. Lynne tutors
elementary and junior high students as well as volunteering her time teaching
Sunday school for her church.  She currently works in the library at
Cy-Springs High School. She has been involved with MCAC for the past six
years.   Lynne is known for her amazing ability to motivate and instruct young
(and older) swimmers with her high energy and her direct approach.  She
enjoys spending time with her family, camping, swimming and reading.  
Lynne's two boys, Ben(17) and Sam(14) and daughter Kelly(21) all came to
MCAC as swimmers before Lynne stepped on deck as one of our coaches.

Coach Nina
Eden has been around swimming her whole life. She started at the
age of 4 on the Bear Creek Barracudas. She then moved on to
swim competitively with MCAC for years and swam through high
school on varsity. Attended District and Regionals 3 years in a
row. Her specialty is the butterfly. Eden has coached and swam
for Katy Aquatics and was the head swim coach for Chimney Hill.
 Eden attended 9 years of swim camp at the University of Texas
and has trained under Eddie Reese, Ian Crocker, Nate Dusing,
Brendan Hansen, and Josh Davis to name a few. She has a
passion for teaching and helping swimmers achieve their best. She
attends Lonestar College. Her hobbies include taking care of her 2
black labs, coaching, swimming, running and shopping.
